# timer. vs Countdown to an event

The clearest difference is ads: timer. at none against Countdown to an event's shown. timer. also leads on ratings volume (170 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. timer. sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Countdown to an event sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

timer. holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: timer. has 170 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

timer. ships an update every 3 months, Countdown to an event every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
