# EBSMath vs MathFriends

The clearest difference is rating: EBSMath at 5.0 against MathFriends's 4.5. EBSMath also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 17) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). MathFriends's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MathFriends sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. EBSMath asks for nothing beyond the download.

EBSMath holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MathFriends has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of EBSMath's written reviews are positive against 99% of MathFriends's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EBSMath ships an update every 2 months, MathFriends monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
