# Screen Recorder vs Record In

The clearest difference is monetization model: Record In at freemium against Screen Recorder's subscription. Screen Recorder's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 36%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Record In sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Record In holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 957 and 344 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Screen Recorder's written reviews are positive against 36% of Record In's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Screen Recorder ships an update monthly, Record In every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
