# Hy vs UWashApp

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UWashApp at 57% against Hy's 13%. UWashApp also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Hy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hy holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hy has 20K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Hy's written reviews are positive against 57% of UWashApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hy ships an update weekly, UWashApp every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
