# Hy vs SHIFT

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SHIFT at 100% against Hy's 13%. SHIFT also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.2) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Hy's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (20K vs 31). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SHIFT holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hy has 20K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 13% of Hy's written reviews are positive against 100% of SHIFT's.

Hy ships an update weekly, SHIFT every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
