# Самокат vs Niagara

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Niagara at 95% against Самокат's 23%. Самокат's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (20K vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Самокат holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Самокат has 20K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Самокат's written reviews are positive against 95% of Niagara's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Самокат ships an update weekly, Niagara every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
