# Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet vs AQUA Wallet

The clearest difference is rating: Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet at 4.7 against AQUA Wallet's 4.1. Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 78) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). AQUA Wallet's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 48%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet has 1.3K ratings behind it against 78, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet's written reviews are positive against 57% of AQUA Wallet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Blockstream Bitcoin Wallet ships an update every 2 weeks, AQUA Wallet every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
