# RXSmartCam vs Security Camera Home App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RXSmartCam at 100% against Security Camera Home App's 17%. RXSmartCam also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). Security Camera Home App's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (737 vs 6). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Camera Home App sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. RXSmartCam asks for nothing beyond the download.

Security Camera Home App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Camera Home App has 737 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of RXSmartCam's written reviews are positive against 17% of Security Camera Home App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RXSmartCam ships an update every 2 weeks, Security Camera Home App every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
