# Fermentis vs Espresso Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Espresso Pro at 100% against Fermentis's 16%. Espresso Pro also leads on rating (4.0 vs 2.1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Fermentis's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Espresso Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fermentis has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 16% of Fermentis's written reviews are positive against 100% of Espresso Pro's.

Fermentis ships an update every 6 weeks, Espresso Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
