# Ling vs Fluently

The clearest difference is ads: Fluently at none against Ling's shown. Fluently also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 61%). Ling's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 62) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ling sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Fluently sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ling holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ling has 17K ratings behind it against 62, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Ling's written reviews are positive against 76% of Fluently's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ling ships an update weekly, Fluently monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
