# Ringtone Maker vs Ringtone Maker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ringtone Maker at free with in-app purchases against Ringtone Maker's subscription. Ringtone Maker also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (24K vs 3.4K). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ringtone Maker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ringtone Maker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ringtone Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ringtone Maker has 24K ratings behind it against 3.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 56% of Ringtone Maker's written reviews are positive against 62% of Ringtone Maker's.

Ringtone Maker ships an update every 5 weeks, Ringtone Maker every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
