# Themeology vs ScreenView

The clearest difference is monetization model: ScreenView at free with in-app purchases against Themeology's subscription. ScreenView also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 17%) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 26.0). Themeology's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Themeology sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and ScreenView sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Themeology holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Themeology has 648 ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Themeology's written reviews are positive against 50% of ScreenView's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Themeology ships an update every 5 days, ScreenView every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
