# FieldPro Go vs Garmin Alpha

The clearest difference is rating: FieldPro Go at 5.0 against Garmin Alpha's 3.7. FieldPro Go also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 18.0). Garmin Alpha's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (136 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FieldPro Go holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Alpha has 136 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FieldPro Go ships an update every 7 months, Garmin Alpha monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
