# Wise Camera vs GridCam

The clearest difference is rating: GridCam at 5.0 against Wise Camera's 4.5. GridCam also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Wise Camera's advantage is ratings volume (198 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wise Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GridCam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GridCam holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wise Camera has 198 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Wise Camera ships an update monthly, GridCam fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
