# DragonFly Companion vs VirtualProductionCamera

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DragonFly Companion at none against VirtualProductionCamera's 3. DragonFly Companion also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). VirtualProductionCamera's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VirtualProductionCamera sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. DragonFly Companion asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for DragonFly Companion against 5.0 for VirtualProductionCamera. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DragonFly Companion has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DragonFly Companion ships an update every 3 months, VirtualProductionCamera fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
