# Lazy FB2 Reader vs Books Reader

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lazy FB2 Reader at 86% against Books Reader's 38%. Lazy FB2 Reader also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (12 vs 15.6). Books Reader's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (22 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Books Reader sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Lazy FB2 Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Books Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Books Reader has 22 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Lazy FB2 Reader's written reviews are positive against 38% of Books Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lazy FB2 Reader ships an update every 4 months, Books Reader every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
