If a match is not found during auto-completion data entry, you can add new wines, wineries, varieties and countries on the fly. Bar code scan feature will search for wines in your cellar to facilitate inventory updates and reconciliation. If a wine is not located, a new entry will be initiated with the bar code entered. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: My Wine Cellar at 59% against Bottelio's 0%. My Wine Cellar also leads on ratings volume (194 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Bottelio's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Bottelio holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Wine Cellar has 194 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of My Wine Cellar's written reviews are positive against 0% of Bottelio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

My Wine Cellar ships an update every 6 weeks, Bottelio every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
