# The Epic Network vs The FVM

The clearest difference is rating: The FVM at 5.0 against The Epic Network's 1.0. The FVM also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). The Epic Network's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The FVM holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The FVM has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Epic Network ships an update every 13 months, The FVM fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
