# 轻听英语 vs VideoNotes

The clearest difference is ads: VideoNotes at none against 轻听英语's shown. VideoNotes also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). 轻听英语's advantage is ratings volume (617 vs 12) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 轻听英语 sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and VideoNotes sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

轻听英语 holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 轻听英语 has 617 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of 轻听英语's written reviews are positive against 100% of VideoNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

轻听英语 ships an update every 2 months, VideoNotes every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
