# AuctionZip vs Maltz Auctions

The clearest difference is rating: AuctionZip at 4.7 against Maltz Auctions's 4.1. AuctionZip also leads on ratings volume (678 vs 67) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Maltz Auctions's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AuctionZip holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AuctionZip has 678 ratings behind it against 67, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of AuctionZip's written reviews are positive against 33% of Maltz Auctions's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AuctionZip ships an update every 2 months, Maltz Auctions every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
