# AuctionZip vs Auction Direct

AuctionZip and Auction Direct both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Auction Direct's written reviews are positive against 24% of AuctionZip's. Auction Direct also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). AuctionZip's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 28 months) and ratings volume (670 vs 28). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for AuctionZip against 4.8 for Auction Direct. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AuctionZip has 670 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 24% of AuctionZip's written reviews are positive against 92% of Auction Direct's.

AuctionZip ships an update every 2 months, Auction Direct every 28 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
