# AuctionZip vs DirectBids

The clearest difference is ratings volume: AuctionZip at 670 against DirectBids's 6. AuctionZip also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). DirectBids's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DirectBids holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AuctionZip has 670 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AuctionZip ships an update every 2 months, DirectBids every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
