# AuctionZip vs Municibid

The clearest difference is rating: AuctionZip at 4.7 against Municibid's 4.1. AuctionZip also leads on ratings volume (670 vs 7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). Municibid's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AuctionZip holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AuctionZip has 670 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of AuctionZip's written reviews are positive against 33% of Municibid's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AuctionZip ships an update every 2 months, Municibid monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
