# Cross Stitch vs String Art

Cross Stitch and String Art both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 64% of Cross Stitch's written reviews are positive against 37% of String Art's. String Art's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (26K vs 4.5K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cross Stitch sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and String Art sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Cross Stitch against 4.6 for String Art. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: String Art has 26K ratings behind it against 4.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of Cross Stitch's written reviews are positive against 37% of String Art's.

Cross Stitch ships an update every 2 months, String Art every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
