# Smart911 vs MercPerks®

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Smart911 at 6.8K against MercPerks®'s 20. MercPerks®'s advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Smart911 against 4.7 for MercPerks®. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart911 has 6.8K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.
