# Blocky Gate vs Gears Forever

The clearest difference is rating: Blocky Gate at 5.0 against Gears Forever's 4.2. Gears Forever's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (18 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blocky Gate sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Gears Forever sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blocky Gate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gears Forever has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Blocky Gate ships an update monthly, Gears Forever every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
