# PDF Scanner App vs Scan Pro PDF

PDF Scanner App and Scan Pro PDF both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 50% of Scan Pro PDF's written reviews are positive against 28% of PDF Scanner App's. PDF Scanner App's advantage is ratings volume (6.3K vs 131) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner App sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Scan Pro PDF sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan Pro PDF holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Scanner App has 6.3K ratings behind it against 131, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of PDF Scanner App's written reviews are positive against 50% of Scan Pro PDF's.

PDF Scanner App ships an update every 3 weeks, Scan Pro PDF every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
