# Doc vs Fireflies

The clearest difference is rating: Fireflies at 4.8 against Doc's 3.0. Fireflies also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 5). Doc's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fireflies holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fireflies has 5.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
