# Whittler vs Roll

The clearest difference is monetization model: Whittler at free against Roll's free with in-app purchases. Whittler also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Roll's advantage is ratings volume (439 vs 9). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whittler sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Roll sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whittler holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Roll has 439 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Whittler's written reviews are positive against 78% of Roll's.
