# Revolution Prep vs VCS Assist

Revolution Prep and VCS Assist both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of VCS Assist's written reviews are positive against 63% of Revolution Prep's. VCS Assist also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Revolution Prep's advantage is ratings volume (501 vs 45). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Revolution Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Revolution Prep has 501 ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Revolution Prep's written reviews are positive against 93% of VCS Assist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Revolution Prep ships an update every 3 months, VCS Assist every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
