# Speexx vs Yachay

The clearest difference is rating: Yachay at 5.0 against Speexx's 3.7. Yachay also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Speexx's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Yachay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speexx has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speexx ships an update every 2 months, Yachay every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
