# Byga vs Squad XI

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Byga at 31K against Squad XI's 2. Byga also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Squad XI's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Squad XI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Byga has 31K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Byga ships an update every 3 weeks, Squad XI every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
