# Chef vs Wok Tonight

The clearest difference is update cadence: Wok Tonight at every 2 months against Chef's every 21 months. Chef's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chef sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Wok Tonight sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chef ships an update every 21 months, Wok Tonight every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
