# Media CSM vs Recorder.ro

The clearest difference is monetization model: Media CSM at free against Recorder.ro's free with in-app purchases. Media CSM also leads on iOS requirement (11.4 vs 15.0). Recorder.ro's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Media CSM against 5.0 for Recorder.ro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recorder.ro has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Media CSM ships an update every 2 months, Recorder.ro fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
