# Insteon Director vs Hubitat Elevation

The clearest difference is rating: Hubitat Elevation at 4.1 against Insteon Director's 2.8. Hubitat Elevation also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 164). Insteon Director's advantage is review sentiment (32% vs 24%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hubitat Elevation holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hubitat Elevation has 1.2K ratings behind it against 164, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Insteon Director's written reviews are positive against 24% of Hubitat Elevation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
