# 5 Things vs Podcast App

The clearest difference is rating: 5 Things at 5.0 against Podcast App's 4.3. 5 Things also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.4). Podcast App's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Podcast App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. 5 Things asks for nothing beyond the download.

5 Things holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Podcast App has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
