# Speed Typer vs Keywars

The clearest difference is ads: Keywars at none against Speed Typer's shown. Keywars also leads on iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.0). Speed Typer's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 17 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Typer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Keywars sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speed Typer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Typer has 6.7K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Speed Typer ships an update every 3 weeks, Keywars every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
