# Speed Typer vs Alpha Speed

The clearest difference is rating: Speed Typer at 4.7 against Alpha Speed's 4.0. Speed Typer also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (6.7K vs 1). Alpha Speed's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Typer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Alpha Speed asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speed Typer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Typer has 6.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Speed Typer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alpha Speed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speed Typer ships an update every 3 weeks, Alpha Speed every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
