# iCarPlayer vs Car Play Connect

The clearest difference is rating: iCarPlayer at 5.0 against Car Play Connect's 4.4. iCarPlayer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 15) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). Car Play Connect's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Car Play Connect sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. iCarPlayer asks for nothing beyond the download.

iCarPlayer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Car Play Connect has 20K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of iCarPlayer's written reviews are positive against 15% of Car Play Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iCarPlayer ships an update every 2 months, Car Play Connect fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
