# SAMBA 2 Remote vs Gabb Messenger

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gabb Messenger at every 5 weeks against SAMBA 2 Remote's every 8 months. Gabb Messenger also leads on ratings volume (922 vs 5) and rating (3.7 vs 3.4). SAMBA 2 Remote's advantage is iOS requirement (9.3 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gabb Messenger holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gabb Messenger has 922 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of SAMBA 2 Remote's written reviews are positive against 19% of Gabb Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
