# Hearty Journal vs My Diary With Lock

The clearest difference is ratings volume: My Diary With Lock at 2K against Hearty Journal's 44. On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hearty Journal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.49 per month and My Diary With Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hearty Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Diary With Lock has 2K ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 92% and 91% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
