# Notes Writer vs Blankbook

The clearest difference is rating: Notes Writer at 4.5 against Blankbook's 3.9. Notes Writer also leads on ratings volume (7.3K vs 135). Blankbook's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 45%) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes Writer sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Blankbook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notes Writer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notes Writer has 7.3K ratings behind it against 135, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Notes Writer's written reviews are positive against 55% of Blankbook's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
