# Notes Writer vs Noteful

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Noteful at 87% against Notes Writer's 45%. Noteful also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (24K vs 7.3K). Notes Writer's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes Writer sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Noteful sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Noteful holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7.3K and 24K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of Notes Writer's written reviews are positive against 87% of Noteful's.

Notes Writer ships an update every 5 days, Noteful fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
