# Notes Writer vs Colors Extractor

The clearest difference is rating: Colors Extractor at 5.0 against Notes Writer's 4.5. Colors Extractor also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). Notes Writer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes Writer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Colors Extractor sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Colors Extractor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notes Writer has 7.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Notes Writer ships an update every 4 days, Colors Extractor every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
