# Transparent Language Online vs Mango Reader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mango Reader at none against Transparent Language Online's 4. Transparent Language Online's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 13) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transparent Language Online sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Mango Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Transparent Language Online holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Transparent Language Online has 1.2K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Transparent Language Online's written reviews are positive against 63% of Mango Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
