# Borderless VPN vs SPL VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: SPL VPN at free with in-app purchases against Borderless VPN's subscription. SPL VPN also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Borderless VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Borderless VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and SPL VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.39 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Borderless VPN ships an update every 3 months, SPL VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
