# Lysn vs Nico

The clearest difference is ads: Lysn at none against Nico's shown. Lysn also leads on rating (2.8 vs 2.6) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 99). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lysn sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month and Nico sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lysn holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lysn has 1.1K ratings behind it against 99, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Lysn's written reviews are positive against 34% of Nico's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lysn ships an update every 3 weeks, Nico monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
