# Train Effective vs RocketTrainer

Train Effective and RocketTrainer both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of RocketTrainer's written reviews are positive against 70% of Train Effective's. Train Effective's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Train Effective sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and RocketTrainer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Train Effective against 4.8 for RocketTrainer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Train Effective has 13K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Train Effective's written reviews are positive against 100% of RocketTrainer's.

Train Effective ships an update every 3 weeks, RocketTrainer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
