# VandySafe vs Gradescope

The clearest difference is rating: VandySafe at 3.7 against Gradescope's 1.4. Gradescope's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (269 vs 20). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VandySafe holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gradescope has 269 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VandySafe ships an update every 9 months, Gradescope every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
