# xTract vs Scan Now

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scan Now at 89% against xTract's 33%. Scan Now also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (259 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. xTract sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Scan Now sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan Now holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Now has 259 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of xTract's written reviews are positive against 89% of Scan Now's.

xTract ships an update every 2 months, Scan Now fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
